Built from Inside the Program.

Advanced Practice Ready exists because of a simple observation: the board prep tools NP students were using weren't built by people who train NP students. They were built by test-prep companies. The questions were plausible. The rationales were thin. The adaptive engines tracked completion, not learning gaps.

Paul Logan has spent 30 years practicing cardiology. He has seen the same pattern every year — strong students hitting boards with tools that weren't measuring what boards actually test. So he built something that does.

How This Is Built Differently

Most board prep question banks are written to a textbook. Ours are written to clinical practice guidelines — the same sources ANCC, AACN, and AANPCB use to build their exams.

Built from the Same Sources as Your Exam

Every NPReady question is traceable to a named clinical practice guideline — the same guidelines your certifying board uses to construct the exam. Not a textbook summary. A clinical scenario that requires you to apply what the guideline actually recommends, with a rationale that explains why the other three options are wrong.

Questions That Match How Boards Actually Test

Board exams don't just ask you to name things — they put you in front of a patient and make you decide. NPReady is built the same way: a mix of foundational recall, scenario-based application, and complex cases where multiple things are true at once. The balance mirrors what you'll see on exam day.

Starts Where You Need It Most

NPReady starts with a diagnostic exam that maps your performance across every blueprint domain. Then the engine focuses your practice on the areas where you're weakest. You don't spend time reviewing what you already know. You work on what will actually move your score.

Built for Your Specific Exam

ACNP, FNP, and PMHNP candidates each face a different certifying board — and sometimes more than one to choose from. NPReady is mapped to the published content outline of each board, so the questions you practice are aligned to the exam you're actually going to take.

Physical Exam Reasoning — Where Others Stop Short

No other board prep platform addresses physical exam reasoning — what you hear on auscultation, what you see on inspection, what you feel on palpation, and what it tells you before you've ordered a single test. It's one of the most tested clinical skills and the one most often skipped in prep tools.

Rationales That Teach

Every answer includes a detailed rationale — not a one-sentence restatement of the correct answer. Each wrong option is addressed individually: why it's wrong, clinically and specifically. You learn from every question, not just the ones you miss.

The Person Behind Every Question

Paul Logan, PhD, CRNP

Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioner, WellSpan Cardiology

Paul Logan graduated from Penn's ACNP program in 1994 — one of the first acute care nurse practitioners in the country, at a time when the specialty was still defining itself. He's practiced cardiology ever since.

His PhD is quantitative — trained by a health economist. That discipline shapes how the question bank is built: not just what topics to cover, but how to structure questions so they actually measure clinical reasoning, not familiarity with buzzwords. Every design choice — how questions are leveled, how rationales are written, how the adaptive engine allocates your practice time — reflects that background.

Thirty years of clinical practice means the questions read like the clinical environment actually is — not a cleaned-up version of it. The edge cases are real. The distractors are the things you'd actually consider. The rationales explain not just why the correct answer is correct, but why each wrong answer fails, clinically and specifically.

Thirty years of clinical practice means he sees what students need and what they're not getting. NPReady is the platform he built to give them.

What "Board Ready" Actually Means

Board exams test clinical reasoning under uncertainty. They present patients, not categories. They reward the clinician who knows what to do when the presentation is messy and the answer isn't obvious.

That's what this platform trains. Not trivia. Not pattern matching. Not the ability to recognize a drug name. The ability to walk into an exam — or a patient room — and reason through it.

That's the standard every question is written to. It's also the standard we hold ourselves to.

Start With the Free Diagnostic

The NPReady mini-diagnostic is 25 questions, no registration required. It covers all blueprint domains and shows you exactly which areas you'd want to work on. It's the fastest way to see whether the methodology matches how you learn.
